Dental Implants
Dental implants are artificial tooth root made of titanium; that are gently placed into the jawbone where teethare missing. These anchors act as tooth root substitutes. The underlying jawbone bonds with the titanium, creating a strong foundation for artificial teeth. Once the implants are ready to be restored with artificial teeth, small posts are attached to the implants, which provide stable anchors for artificialteethreplacement, offering a more permanent solution compared to dentures. Dental implants can improve chewing function, speech, and aesthetics, making them a popular choice for tooth replacement.
How Dental Implant process goes
The placement of dental implants involves two surgical procedures. First, the implants are gently placed within your jawbone. For the first three to six months following this procedure, the implants gradually bond with the jawbone so that there will be a stable anchor for the artificial tooth. During this period,we will provide you withtemporary dentures if desired, till the second phase. After the implant has bonded to the jawbone, the second phase begins. Ourprosthetic dentistwill uncover the implants and attach small posts to the implants, called abutments, that will act as anchors for the artificial teeth. When the artificial teeth are placed, theseabutments will not be seen.ÂIf roots of the tooth to be replaced by dental implants or the fractured tooth are still present in your jawbone, we canplace the dental implant at the same time as a tooth extraction, further minimizing the number of surgical procedures.
A dental professional evaluates your oral health, reviews your medical history, and takes 3D scans and X-rays to discuss treatment options.
The implant is placed into the jawbone, where it fuses with the bone (osseointegration) over 3-6 months. Temporary restorations may be provided during this healing period.
An abutment is attached to the implant, allowing the gums to heal around it for a natural, seamless appearance.
A custom-made prosthetic tooth, designed to match the color, shape, and size of your natural teeth, is placed on the abutment to complete the restoration.
Regular dental check-ups are scheduled to monitor the health of the implant and surrounding teeth, ensuring long-term success.
